Case Study
Central and Cecil

Central and Cecil, a provider specialising in homes for individuals aged over 55, required comprehensive water hygiene compliance services for their domestic properties, including sheltered housing and extra care schemes across London. Working as a subcontractor for BSW Heating Limited, Envirocure delivered a five-year contract covering all water hygiene compliance checks and associated remedial works identified through risk assessments.

Scope of Work

The contract involved providing water hygiene services for a diverse range of domestic properties housing elderly and vulnerable residents. As part of our service, we:

  • Conducted all water hygiene compliance checks and remedial works.
  • Developed a Resident Risk Register during the mobilisation phase to ensure tailored service delivery for elderly, infirm, disabled, and other vulnerable individuals.
  • Collaborated with Scheme Managers to minimise disruption during visits.
  • Attended monthly contract meetings with BSW Heating and provided KPI data specific to our work.
  • Delivered services in compliance with our Legionella Control Association (LCA) accreditation.
Client: Central and Cecil (via BSW Heating Limited)
Contract Value:£160,000 per annum
Duration:March 2018 - March 2023

Resident Safety and Tailored Training

Given the vulnerabilities of many residents, we implemented tailored approaches, including:

  • Resident Profiling and Risk Register: Detailed profiling conducted at the start of the contract enabled us to establish a plan and Resident Risk Register, updated regularly to adapt to resident needs.
  • Dementia Friends Partnership: We partnered with Dementia Friends to provide tailored training for our entire delivery team, ensuring sensitive and effective communication with vulnerable residents.
  • GDPR Compliance: All resident data was stored and handled in compliance with GDPR regulations.

Engineer Expertise and Professionalism

Envirocure’s directly employed engineers brought a wealth of experience to the contract:

  • Qualifications and Approvals: Engineers are City and Guilds qualified, DBS (enhanced) approved, and fully compliant with LCA service standards.
  • Professional Presentation: Engineers wear Envirocure-branded uniforms, drive liveried vehicles, and display photographic ID during visits.

Social Value Contributions

In partnership with BSW Heating, Envirocure delivered social value through initiatives like:

  • Garden Refurbishment Project: At an extra care scheme in Teddington, our volunteers cleared overgrown plants and weeds, prepared raised beds, painted fencing, and planted new greenery, improving the outdoor environment for residents.
